Or are you focused on what you don’t want?
Think about it and you might be surprised by what you find.
A lot of people focus on what they don’t want.
For example… do you say: “I don’t want to be mistreated, I don’t want to lose my job, I don’t want to be broke, I don’t want to be single, I don’t want to be overweight, I don’t want… “(fill in the blank).

When the emphasis is on what you don’t want… your subconscious mind picks up on the part after the don’t want and so creates exactly what you don’t want.
Why?
Because your concerned about what you don’t want and the energy or emphasis is on that part of the thought. If you say you don’t want to lose your job – you’re really concerned about losing your job… this is what you focus on, that you might lose your job. And this is what the subconscious mind picks up on.

It’s not good enough to think that you know where you want
to be.

I am a firm believer in goal-setting…but I look at it a
little differently. Goals can do more harm than good. If
you look at your life now…could you have predicted where
you would be 5 years ago? I very much doubt it.

Life is complicated. Our priorities can change minute-by-
minute let alone year-by-year. Not reaching your targets
can have such a negative affect on your life. So…

Focus only on THE goal.

Focus on what you really, really want. You almost
certainly won’t know how you will get there…so how will
you be able to plan each step? Instead of looking at what
you need to do…look at what you shouldn’t be doing.

Remove from your life the tasks that don’t help towards
THE goal…and you will free up your time for tasks that
will move you towards it.

When you are moving towards THE goal…strange things
happen. Little things start to go in your favor…
opportunities present themselves when you least expect it.

THE goal begins to come to you as you move towards it…
but it will only move if you do.

I can honestly say that it worked for me. Doors that I had
assumed were closed suddenly began to open up to me as I
was writing my eBook – “The Science of Success”.

I took Ryan Blair’s 100 day challenge last year from September thru the end of December – it was an outstanding goal setting and life planning program. You get a daily audio along with a transcript, I can certainly say it helped me refocus and kept me on my toes everyday.

Stuck in Time!

I hate to admit it, but I was stuck in time, I was in a comfort zone and just going along nice and steady. It changed my thinking and now I’m back climbing the next mountain!

A professor at the University of Wales grilled ten top athletes in order to come up with a definition of mental toughness.

By pinning this down so precisely…he also produced a blueprint for the elite businessman or woman.

Here it is…

1) You have to have unshakeable self-belief.
2) You bounce back from setbacks with increased determination to succeed.
3) You know that you are better than your opponents.
4) Your desire for success is overpowering.
5) You are fully focused on the task in hand.

6) You regain psychological control after unexpected events.
7) You ignore others’ performances and focus on your own. You thrive on the pressure of competition.
9) You can block out personal problems.
10) You can switch your professional focus on and off.

Now…I don’t know about you..but isn’t this a fantastic blueprint (with a few changes in wording, of courses) for living an ‘elite’ life?

It certainly got me looking at how I deal with things both in a business and personal sense.
