B is for BELIEF!

B is for BELIEF!
A while ago I posted A is for Action – then totally forgot about the others I had on file. So I’m digging them out and will be posting them over the next few days. These were from a small collections of cartoons I did for a magazine here in the UK years ago called SUCCESS TODAY , it was short lived and folded before I got to the letter ‘I’. Shame – I loved that magazine!
Here’s a few BELIEF quotes that I liked:
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. Anatole France
Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true. [paraphrased] Buddha
“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” Gail Devers
Getting good out of a bad situation!

While searching around for a cartoon to illustrate an article on ‘turning bad situations into good ones’ I came across this cartoon I did in 1999. I started a series called ‘Manic Motivators’. Let me know what you think? Was it a good title for a motivational cartoons feature? Is it something worth resurrecting?

6 RULES FOR BEATING WORRY!
Posted by: | Comments6 RULES FOR BEATING WORRY by David J. Schwartz, Ph.D from
The Power Of Psychic Power.
Worry germs will die if you’ll apply these six disinfectants
1. Keep busy. Mental idleness is the seed bed of fear,
frustration, and anxiety. At the first sign of worry, get busy
doing something.
2. Fight perfectionism. Stop looking for the one best
way. Remember, if you wait until you’re perfect, you’ll be
dead before you get started!
3. Take action. Action kills worry. Plunge in. Do
something about the thing that worries you. Stop debat-
ing, start doing.
4. Look ahead. What’s done is done. Stop trying to
improve hindsight. Sharpen up your foresight instead.
5. Love the unexpected. Look forward to the unknown.
Be glad life is filled with surprises. It is nature’s
way of preventing boredom.
6. Sit down and count your blessings. You’ve got
more than you think!
Opportunity Knocks!?
Posted by: | Comments“What is opportunity, and when does it knock? It never knocks. You can wait a whole lifetime, listening, hoping, and you will hear no knocking.
None at all. You are opportunity, and you must knock on the door leading to your destiny. You prepare yourself to recognize opportunity, to pursue and seize opportunity as you develop the strength of your personality, and build a self-image with which you are able to live / with your self-respect alive and growing.” – Maxwell Maltz quotes (US plastic surgeon, motivational author, and creator of the Psycho-Cybernetics, 1927-2003)
